FAQ

Goldsmith questions, answered

The things people ask before they join. If yours is not here, message us on WhatsApp and we will answer it.

Is Goldsmith really free?

Yes. No subscription, no performance fee and no share of your profits. You pay your broker its normal spread, and on some account types a commission, on each trade, which is the same cost you would pay trading on your own. We are a Vantage introducing broker and receive a rebate from Vantage per trade. It never comes out of your deposit or profits.

Who holds my money?

Vantage does, in an account in your own name. We get trading access and nothing more. We never hold your funds, and we cannot withdraw a cent.

Can I withdraw whenever I want?

Yes. Withdrawals go through your own Vantage portal and land back in your own verified account. Only you can start one. Vantage pays withdrawals back through the method you deposited with, so pick one you are happy to be paid back to.

What is the minimum deposit?

$1,000. On a smaller account most trades come out slightly smaller than planned, so it grows a little more slowly at first and catches up as the balance grows. From around $2,000, trades size closer to plan from day one.

What if I want to stop?

Tell us and we disconnect Goldsmith. There is no contract, no notice period and no fee, because you were never paying us anything. Your account and your money stay exactly where they are, with you.

What is the risk?

Trading gold on leverage is high risk and you can lose some or all of your deposit. Over the eleven recorded months the deepest fall was 16.7%, in February 2026, meaning the account sat 16.7% below its previous high before recovering. A future fall could be deeper. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Are the results from a live account?

No. They show how Goldsmith would have performed on Vantage's recorded prices and spreads from 1 November 2025 to 23 September 2026. They are not a live account record, and they do not predict the future.

What does Goldsmith actually trade?

Gold against the US dollar, written XAU/USD, and nothing else. Two rules-based systems share the account: The Anvil, which is patient and takes about 24 trades a month risking 1.5% each, and The Hammer, which is fast and takes about 270 trades a month risking 0.5% each.

Do I need to know how to trade?

No. You open the account, fund it and message us. After that you can watch every trade in your own MT4 or MT5 app without doing anything. If you want to understand what you are looking at, our Learn section explains the basics.

Why do I have to use your link?

The link connects your account to us as your introducing broker, and we can only switch Goldsmith on for accounts opened through it. It is also how we are paid, by Vantage rather than by you. If you already hold a Vantage account, you can transfer it to IB number 24007801 from inside your client portal.

What is the deposit bonus, and why must I opt in first?

Vantage runs a bonus on deposits, and you must opt in under Promotions before you fund the account. Deposit first and you lose it. The bonus is trading credit: you cannot withdraw it, and a withdrawal removes a matching share of it. The percentage depends on your country and changes over time, so check your Promotions tab. Vantage's terms apply and the offer is not available in every country.

Who can use Goldsmith?

Anyone who can open a Vantage account in their own country, except US persons. Promotions are set by Vantage and are not available everywhere. Smith Block Markets does not give financial advice, so if you are unsure whether this suits you, speak to someone qualified in your country.
